ICH Spring 2026 4th-6th Grade Tryouts - Make-Ups

Iron City Hoops is excited to offer our 11th year of competitive travel teams. With our teams, overall team size will be small (8-10 players per team). Each team will have 1-2 practices a week beginning mid-March that will include a mixture of team practice and skills work. Practice locations will be Clay Chalkville High School. Coaches, uniforms, and warm-up shooting shirts will be provided.
We will offer youth teams in the following age groups:
Boys - 4th Grade through 6th grade
Tournaments
Teams will play in Youth Basketball Organization of America (YBOA) tournaments around the Birmingham area. These are Saturday/Sunday tournaments where you will play a minimum of 3 games. Teams will play in the following tournaments:
April 11th/12th - YBOA Iron City Hoopfest
April 18th/19th - YBOA Iron City Classic
April 25th/26th - YBOA Super Shootout
May 2nd/3rd - YBOA Super Regional
Cost
Cost will be $400 for the youth teams. Total costs includes practice court fees, 4 tournaments, uniforms, coaches, etc. Payment would be due by April 1st.
Tryout Information
Tryouts will be held around at Clay Chalkville High School on March 7th. There will be a tryout fee of $25. If you are interested, please go ahead and register for "Spring AAU Travel Team Tryout Fee" on our website using the link below.
If you cannot register online, please email us at ironcityhoops@gmail.com and provide us with your contact information including your child's name, current grade level, school, and basketball experience.
Based on the number of players who attend tryouts we may need an additional sessions. More information on any changes will be sent out prior to tryouts. Our evaluation schedule is as follows:
Saturday March 7th 2026 @ Clay Chalkville High School
4th & 5th Grade Boys - 9:30 to 10:30 am
6th Grade Boys - 12:00 to 1:00 pm
Tuesday March 10th at Clay Chalkville High School
4th & 5th Grade Boys Make-Up tryouts - 6:00-7:00 pm
