ICH Spring 2021 Travel Basketball Teams

Competitive Teams

Iron City Hoops is excited to offer our 6th year of Spring Competitive travel teams. With our Competitive teams, overall team size will be small (10 players per team). We will not guarantee playing time but we also do not expect a weekend tournament to go by where your player does not play unless there are disciplinary or injury reasons. Each team will have two practices a week beginning the end of February. In mid-March we will transition to one team practice per week. Practice locations will be in the Birmingham area. Coaches, uniforms, and warm-up shooting shirts will be provided.

At Iron City Hoops we feel that we can facilitate your player's growth and allow them to compete against strong competition while staying in the local Birmingham area. We will stay within 2-hours of the Birmingham area. Each team will play in 6 tournaments this spring. Most tournaments will be sponsored through YBOA (Youth Basketball of America - Alabama Chapter). Each tournament guarantees at least 3 games per weekend. By participating in these tournaments we must follow YBOA rules. A player cannot play for multiple teams in the same YBOA tournament in the same age division. Therefore, if a player chooses to participate on an Iron City Hoops Competitive team, we ask that they do not play for another organization until the conclusion of the spring season. For our 8th grade and older teams, we must also follow AHSAA rules. This limits each team to only 3 players from the same school.

Practices begin at the end of February. We plan to finish our season in early to mid-May prior to school try-outs. A full list of tournament weekends be available by try-outs.

Cost will be $750 for Competitive Teams. Total cost includes all practice court fees, 6 tournaments, uniforms, coaches, etc. There are no additional costs. These fees will be divided up into 2 installments with the first deposit due at the end of February prior to the beginning of team practice. The last installment will be due in mid-March prior to the first tournament. All fees can be paid for through our website. Each installment will be $375. The initial deposit of $375 due prior to the start of team practice deposit is non-refundable. There will be a sibling discount if you have multiple players on our teams.

There will be a tryout fee of $15. If you are interested, please go ahead and register for "Travel Team Tryout Fees" on our website using the link below.

If you cannot register online, please email us at ironcityhoops@gmail.com and provide us with your contact information including your child's name, current grade level, school, and basketball experience.
