Competitive Spring Teams

Iron City Hoops will field competitive spring teams that will participate in YBOA and other local tournaments. We will have teams for 5th through 11th grade players. We begin practice mid-February and finish our season at the end of May. Teams will practice twice a week (typically one weeknight and on the weekend) before tournament play. Once a week after tourneys begin. All tournaments are located within an hour to 90 minutes of Birmingham. Teams will participate in 6 tournaments. Iron City Hoops will provide the coaches and uniforms.

Spring, Summer, & Fall Leagues

During the Spring, Summer, and Fall we will offer in-house leagues for middle and high school players. This program will focus on skill development and increasing your players basketball IQ. Middle School players will work one day a week. You will practice the first 15 minutes of the session and then play a camp-style game. High School players will warm up and proceed straight into game play. Iron City Hoops will provide the coaches, jerseys, and officials.

Skills / Pick-Up Game Combo

The Skills/Pick Up Games will be offered in the Spring, Summer and Fall. We plan to run a 6-9 week program. This will be offered to boys going into the 3rd through 9th grades. We will also offer a separate session for 3rd to 9th grade girls. We will play on 9 foot goals for the 3rd and 4th graders when available. 3rd/4th Grade will play with a size 28.5 ball. 5th Grade and up will play with a 29.5 ball. Participants will participate in a 30-45 minute Skills/Fundamentals training followed by game play. The goal is to divide the participants into even teams based on grade. Iron City Hoops will provide the coaches and uniforms/pinnies.
